Terrence M. Randell, is a native New Yorker, who has been practicing law since 1984. He received his B.A. from Queens College and his law degree from New York Law School summa cum laude.
Terry brings a special expertise to Mike Dowd’s office because he was a member of the New York City Police Department from 1966 until his retirement in 1990. At the time he left the NYPD he had attained the rank of Inspector, and over his long career he had commanded diverse units and divisions in that Department's patrol and detective bureaus. Some of these responsibilities included being the Commander of the NYPD Highway Unit and the Commander of Kings County DA squad. Finally, while still a police officer, Terry received NYPD law school scholarship.
After leaving the police department Terry became Vice President, Guardsmark, Inc., an international provider of corporate security and security consulting services. In addition Terry is an expert in police procedure and the use of force.
Terry has been working with Mike Dowd since 1999 on a wide variety of criminal and civil cases. He has been active in all of the sexual abuse cases the office has brought against the Catholic Church.
His vast experience as a police officer affords him a unique knowledge of the workings of the criminal justice system that adds immeasurably to the law office’s ability to tackle a wide range of cases. One of his expertises is defending driving u nder the influence cases and he has similarly lectured on that topic to the New York State Bar Association.
